Problemas con carroceria 109 especial
Hola Rusbel, te pego un hilo reciente sobre como ajustar el bulkhead del foro inglés de Series 2. Espero que puedas leerlo.
Saludos,
Pedro
I'm on with putting a replacement tub on Swampy, and the fit of the doors is much tighter with the new than the old.
Seen lots of stuff on here about adjusting the bulkhead, but can't work out exactly what bolts to loosen to adjust.
Anyone got any decent photos or can point me to the right bolts via pictures.
Confused!!
MarkPS Currently looking for replacement door hinge bolts if anybody's got boxes full of them - particularly the long ones or recessed head type. I plan to keep with S2 bottom hinges, but like door mounted mirrors, so I guess I'm stuck with S3 (or defender) bolts on the top - Sorry RC's!!

you can put spacers in between the foot of the door pillars and the outrigger to set the gap withdraw the 1/2" bolt and fit washers to suit. The tub also has spacers where it bolts to the chassis brackets.(two on S2 4 on S3)Report to moderator Logged

I can see the idea with spacers at the bulkhead bottom, but presumably theres other bolts to loosen to allow the adjustment.
Am I right in thinking the bolts on the bracket onto the chassis above the spring hanger need loosening, but any others?
Sorry if this sounds daft, but i'm in new terratory here.

The stteering box support (which bolts onto the vertical face of the footwell) has some adjustment at the chassis end. The bolts have big washers which may restrict movement by colliding with the re-inforcers on the plate - so you may want to remove the appropriate end one and replace it when all is set - filing it down a little if it won't fit.Remember there are shims at the top end against the footwell.

The bolts on the wind screen may need adjusting to reset the angle to match the door window topReport to moderator Logged

Does the galvanised sill which rums from the base of the bulkhead to the base of the tub not set the distance? Then just pack the bulkhead as above to suit.Report to moderator Logged

That galv strip has no slots to allow easy adjustment to the width of the gap for the door. The hinges will adjust for position and the panel at the end of the sides where it meets the door window frame will adjust sideways. Also the two brackets that bolt to the chassis and the bulkhead holding the steering box on one side will also adjustut if you slacken the three bolts through the chassis.Report to moderator Logged
