En enlace en inglés que se puso en el tema del aceite de la caja de cambios, el "lío" ATF-MTF, dice lo siguiente:

I have a Tdi 90 and it "clunks" when I take up drive. Why? 
The most common cause is worn mainshaft spline but other things to check the A frame ball joint and the halfshaft drive flanges, especially if you have a 300 tdi Defender. To check mainshaft spline wear remove the PTO cover and with the main box in first gear rock the car backwards and forwards whilst looking into the end of the input gear. If the spline is worn you will see movement of the shaft in relation to the gear. Replace the gearbox and transfer box input gear (use a cross drilled gear to prevent recurrence of the problem).

No tengo problemas con el inglés, pero si me meten palabras "automovilísticas" me pierdo como un perro ciego. Se refiere al ruido tipo "clonk" que hace el coche al cambiar de marcha? ´mi Defe, al cambiar de marcha, hace un ruido como si el motor se moviese entero. Si suelto embrague despacito lo hace muy suave, pero si no, parece como si las tripas del coche se movieran.
A qué se supone que es debido?

Tu centrate en lo que le pasa a tu coche y olvidate del Ingles que te dolerá la cabeza y no sacrás nada en claro. 😀
Repasa:
Soportes de motor, de caja.
Aprieta con ganas los tornillos de los ejes de transmisión. (2 llaves de 9/16 o en su defecto de 14mm)
Ya dirás como va.
